 May 10, 2010

Kim Marks called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

 

MINUTES:  Liz Rebadow made a motion to waive the reading of the April

minutes and seconded by Pat Marks.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Lisa Stephens; The Financial report was reviewed.

The Senior Class of 2010 has donated $ 250 as a gift to the band for a new podium to be built for the practice field.

A committee will need to be developed to get students and parent volunteers to get things organized and started.

A nomination was made by Kim Hastings to elect Therese DeLucia as the

2010/2011 President of the Green Band Boosters. The vote was taken and it was decided unanimously that Therese would become the new President.

Thank you to Kim Marks for the years she served as President.

 

DIRECTOR’S REPORTS

Mr. Reimer; -   The Spring Concert is 5/11/10 @ 7:00 PM. All students will need to turn in their ties and cummerbunds there will be stations set up for each grade. The May and June calendar was reviewed. The calendar picture will be taken on 5/23/10 in the gym @ 2:45.

Mrs. Rach; -- Majorette tryouts were held and the 2 new majorettes are: Amy Mellinger and Dakota Hutzler. Congratulations to both girls.

Would also like to thank the Social Committee for the organization and work they did for the Spring Banquet. The band will be participating in the Memorial Day Parade the doors to the band room will open at 9:30. The parade starts at 10:30 the students need to wear their summer shirts and black shorts. We will need chaperones for the parade Mr. & Mrs. Lynn, Kelly Rae Caetta and Mr. & Mrs. Hawk.

Mrs. Aglioti:- The 5th & 6th grade bands preformed for the 4th graders as they toured GIS. The 7th & 8th grade Spring Concert will be held on 5/13/10 @ 7:30 and the 8th graders will receive the band awards.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Concessions- Kim Hastings & Opal Johnson-. No Report

Craft Show-Kim Marks- Will be held on 11/6/10. If anyone has signs from

previous years please bring them to the band room so dates can be changed and reused.

Fundraiser's:

Cookie Dough-Robin Spilker:    There is a new representative for the Cookie Dough. Discussed the possibility of selling the Cookies in the spring.

Fruit Sales: Karen Campbell:  Looking for a co-chair to help and eventually take over chairing the committee.

Hoodies; Therese DeLucia:   Kim Hastings volunteered to take over chairing this committee.

Scrip cards; Jim Lynn:   It was decided to have one last Scrip order which needs to be sent to Mr. Lynn by 5/31/10 and delivered on 6/7/10. Then the sales will begin again in the fall.

Uniforms – Lynda Andrews & Kim Douglas: -    On 5/12/10 the uniforms will be picked up to be cleaned and will be back on 5/19/10.

They are in need of volunteers to help with the uniforms on 5/25/10 for the picture just jackets except for the seniors and they need full uniforms. Senior cords need to be purchased which the cost will be over $300. The discussion was held to go ahead and get the cords and then make it optional if the seniors want to purchase them at the end of marching season they can or the committee will keep them and hand them down to the next class.

Social Committee: - Chris Keppler&Kim Douglas:  Nancy Biggie volunteered to co-chair for the Spring Banquet. Kim reported that there were 10 no shows for the banquet which the boosters still have to pay. If students and guest are unable to attend they need to notify Kim prior to the deadline.

Calendar Committee & Tag Day-Robyn Spilker & Eva Marris: According to Robyn more than ½ of the advertisements are done. The deadline for ads is June 1, 2010. Need to work on getting the dates from the school calendar.

Band Camp; Pam Varga & Pat Marks; The date this year is 8/8/10-8/13/10.  The students will be given survey on the choices of meals to be served. The surveys need to be returned before the end of school. Will need to borrow 2 additional golf carts to take and also find trailers to transport them to camp.

Entertainment Books; Vickie Roe resigned as the chair of the committee.

Robyn Spilker volunteered to chair the committee.

 

New Business: - A new list of volunteers and committee chairs needs to be done. Karen Lynn will continue handling the Applebee’s fundraiser. Mr. & Mrs. Hawk volunteered to maintain the band web site and also co-chair the chaperone committee. There needs to be a committee for the senior scrapbook, the historian of the class is in charge but there needs to be an adult chairperson to oversee the project. It was mentioned that it would be nice to have 4 years of scrapbooks at the

Spring Banquet so the seniors can look back on all four years.

 

Next meeting will be June 7, 2010 at 7:00 PM.

 

The motion was made by Liz Rebadow and seconded Lynda Andrews to adjourn the meeting .The motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 7:50 PM.
